Punks Jump Up ft. Dave 1 from Chromeo “Mister Overtime”
This is different from the usual music we usually post up and review, but this song and video was too dope not too share. The song has been out for awhile now, but it wasn’t till recently a video was released to accompany the funk filled song. The musical duo Punks Jump Up have paired up with Chromeo’s vocalist Dave 1 to bring us a new summer hit. “Mister Overtime” was released with three versions to give listeners a taste of what is to drop before the official EP is released. Hand’s down, the music video will be one my all time favorites next to Daft Punk’s Interstella 5555 series and Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E”. Speaking of which, the video “Mister Overtime” video is almost similar to the “D.A.N.C.E” video, and I don’t doubt that the same person made it. Well I hope you guys enjoy the song as much as I do! I know for fact that this song will fit into anyone’s summer pool part playlist.
By the way, DON’T FORGET TO WATCH IT IN 1080P!!!
Lana Del Rey | Carmen
Lana Del Rey….what more can I say. She has gone from being blogged about by little sites, such as yours truly, to performing on national television. Lana Del Rey has definitely blown up, and rightfully so. Although I was a little disappointed in her “Born to Die” album since many of the songs were changed from their YouTube release versions, I’m still a hardcore LDR fan. Her latest video for her hit “Carmen” has the video style of her original video, and that makes me happy. Her vintage video montage music videos were a trademark of hers in my mind.
Paul van Dyk | Evolution
Paul van Dyk is one of the best DJs ever, voted #1 DJ in the world TWICE by DJ Magazine. PVD is also a big favorite of mine, his song “For an Angel” is an absolute classic that will never age, his music is the definition of the trance genre. Heck, Paul van Dyk is one of Armin Van Buuren’s inspirations, and Armin is considered the leader in trance music right now. With all that being said it is awesome to see PVD coming out with a new album after 5 long years. He says it is “a study in light and dark, love and pain interpreted through dance music.” Listen to the free stream below
Benny Benassi ft. Gary Go – Control
Ultra Music Festival was this weekend, and it was 3 days of glory. I spent a good amount of time streaming it live on youtube, and I’ve gotta say I’m pretty jealous of anyone who went. This song by EDM legend Benny Benassi, was first previewed at UMF but the official music video was just released today and featured video footage from Ultra Music Festival
Macadelic | Mac Miller
Mac Miller dropping his highly anticipated new mixtape, Macadelic. This one is real special to him too, according to Mac: “It’s like the story of someone who is growing up, trying to figure out who he is and trying to figure out what he’s supposed to do in the world and how he’s gonna change it,” Mac told Mixtape Daily. “I think it’s a great piece because it’s a great part of my career, it’s a great time right now and I feel like I been making mixtapes for five years, so this one is very special to me.” (MTV)
I’m really happy for Mac Miller, I’ve been following him since his K.I.D.S. mixtape came out a while back and it has been a awesome to see him rise to such stardom so quickly.

Originally released in the year 2000, the Nike Air Woven is due for another release in Summer/Spring 2012. With a woven style like this, it leaves room for infinte colorway possibilities, too bad Nike will most likely only choose just a few for this release. I think that this would be AMAZING as a Nike iD shoe, just imagine all the possibilities….

I was able to meet a ton of new people as well as kick with my old friends and as always, the CARSxHYPE crew was there to represent too.
